Heather is an occupational therapist that specializes in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. Heather always new she wanted to work in health care with a life motto for herself and her patients to be able to live life to the fullest. A graduate of Towson University in 2014, Heather began her OT career in outpatient settings treating a variety of diagnoses and ages. After working in a rehabilitation hospital specializing in complex neurologic and orthopedic injuries for 4 years, she developed a passion for rehab of the hand and upper extremity. Heather enjoys treating diagnoses of the hand, wrist, elbow, both surgical and nonsurgical in nature, as well as creating customized orthotics for stability and mobility.
In transitioning to working for The Center for Advanced Orthopedics, Heather has found that working closely with the physician, other hand therapists, and the patient has been most productive in achieving optimal patient outcomes by providing an individualized treatment approach. The goal for independence in all aspects of the patient’s life is first and foremost.
In her spare time Heather enjoys yoga, gardening, DIY projects, painting, baking, and spending time with her husband and son.
